And finally push notifications are here. Nimbuzz just updated their client for Android devices and has brought two new cool features. All devices running Android 2.2 or higher can now enjoy push notifications along with message delivery notifications(will work on all versions). Message delivery notifications is a feature previously seen on apps like Whatsapp and now Nimbuzz fans with Android devices can enjoy it too. Each message will be accompanied by two tick marks (✓✓). First tick mark indicates that the message was successfully delivered to Nimbuzz servers and the second indicates that the message was delivered to the recipient. But this doesn’t mean the recipient has read your message. We are hoping to see that notification also soon. Besides these features, you can also set your Nimbuzz app to synchronize with your phone contacts. That will help you to call or chat with any user right from you phone contacts.

Nokia 603
Nokia has not been in the spotlight a lot these days. There's a reason and we all know that. Although Nokia is set to make some serious announcements at this Nokia World on October 26th and 27th, we're still seeing several announcements targeted for the mid and low end market.
Today Nokia announced the Nokia 603, their all new Symbian Belle device. The phone, as you can see in the picture comes in two colors black and white with six covers to choose from. With a 3.5″ NHD display with 640X360 resolution, Symbian Belle on board, 1Ghz processor, 2Gb internal memory, WiFi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and HSDPA support, this phone is a steal at just €200 (Approx. Rs 13000 before tax). The phone has a 5MP camera that does 720p videos at 30fps as well.
Symbian Belle is Nokia's latest Symbian release that makes Symbian future ready. Although Symbian had features that even others in the mainstream are still finding hard to implement, Symbian lacked a great looking UI and and hence lost its appeal. But now, Nokia has stepped things up. The new UI is eye catching and very hard to find on phones at this price range. Not to mention, we all know how optimized Symbian is and there is no match for that. At €200

Nokia E7
E7 is not a new kid on the block. Firstly, it's not the kind of phone market for almost a year now. Although Nokia E7 failed to impress us when we first used it long before Anna or any other updates were rolled out for the E7. But now, it deserves a fresh glance today, in the light of the new Symbian Anna update that hit the phone recently.
So how does the new-generation communicator from Nokia stand out in the crowd? Let's find out.
Features
that you'd call a 'kid'. Secondly, the device has been in the
If someone would buy the Nokia E7, it would most probably be for the arc-sliding keyboard, which is the phone's USP. It's one of the most comfortable keyboard on a phone we've ever used. The buttons are perfect in size and well spaced for that matter. We could see ourselves typing long emails for which we usualy rely on our computers. As an added bonus, there is the 4.0 inch nHD AMOLED display with ClearBlack technology – although nHD (640×360) is on the lower side of what's available on the market today, the ClearBlack technology makes up for it, with better contrast and deeper blacks than most competing devices.
The 8MP EDoF camera, on the other hand, is a hit-or-miss affair – while EDoF (which Nokia calls 'Full-Focus') is a rather interesting technology and works with most quick shots, there's no denying the fact that you'll miss Autofocus more than once with this phone. The EDoF camera does a fine job for most shots where the subject is away from the camera by a meter or over; but just can't cut it when it comes to macro shots.
With video recording, though, EDoF is a pleasure – the 720p videos recorded with the E7 look surprisingly well-detailed; and the dual-LED flash is not a bad package either.
Just like any other Nokia phone, the E7 offers a plethora of connectivity options. In addition to the regular deal like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and micro-USB, the communicator gives you an HDMI port to view your videos on the big-screen; and the novel-and-extremely-useful USB On-the-Go feature – by which you can actually connect your USB mass-storage devices to your phone and directly browse its contents from the phone. Next time someone brings in a presentation in a pen drive, you can directly copy it to your phone without the help of a computer.
One thing we've noticed in our experience with this Symbian^3 device is that, more than the features that makes headlines, it's the simple little things within the phone that makes this phone a lot more useful and worthy.
Design & Build
It's not often that we see smartphones that look as good as they cost. With E7, one has no worries about the build quality and looks. Let's face it, its no plastic device. The distinctly shaped metallic body exudes class. It feels very sturdy in hands. You are sure to turn some heads whenever you pop your E7 out of your pocket and slide it open. The slider mechanism is reassuringly
firm, and the hardware keys are of ample size and good tactile feedback; you won't have much to crib about the keyboard department. All in all, the Nokia E7 is a well-designed and well-built work of art.
Software
Let's face it; Symbian is not going through its finest hour. But with the recent Anna update that hit the E7, N8 and C7 smartphones, Symbian has got better, yet it's leagues behind the pioneers of the arena. However, to a business-oriented user, especially one with a Symbian background; the E7 will pose no usability problems.

Nokia N9
The Nokia N9 has been one of the most anticipated device from Nokia. Ever since announcement and brutal murder of the platform, Nokia N9 has seen a huge demand. Everyone loved the gorgeous design of the Nokia N9. Not to forget the amazing colours that the phone is available in.
Since we announced the Nokia N9 in June this year, the feedback that it has gotten from discerning and avid smartphone users across the world has been nothing short of fantastic," said Ilari Nurmi, Vice President of Marketing, Nokia. "With the innovations in industrial design, user interface, and the Qt developer experience, the Nokia N9 sets the bar for how natural technology can feel, and represents the first in a number of products from Nokia that will be brought to life in similar fashion. |
The Nokia N9 comes with Meego onboard. The curved 3.9 inch display is amazing and everything is just a swipe away. Nokia is releasing the Nokia N9 only in selected markets. Samsung Galaxy Note
Samsung has introduced a new category of mobile phone or lets rather say a new category of device that swings between a cell phone and a tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Note features a 5.3″ HD Super AMOLED screen with 1280×800 resolution and 285ppi. This is one of the gorgeous displays you will ever find. The spacious screen will be your virtual pad and you can scribble just about anything on it using the S-pen. You can quickly jot down a meeting, address or sketch a new design quickly without having to reach for your tablet or any other device.
The Galaxy Note comes with a powerful 1.4Ghz processor, Gingerbread onboard, 8MP camera with LED flash that does 1080p recording, a secondary 2MP camera for video calls and self portraits, 4G/3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, 16gb internal memory, a giant battery with 2500mAh and of course you will see TouchWhiz UI thats on top of all of these.
The device seems to be like a Galaxy S2 on steroids. For those who want bigger, sharper and brighter screen and enhanced battery life than the existing Galaxy S2, this is a good choice. Not to mention the Stylus who has been missing it for years. Samsung seems to believe that bigger is better. We are not against this "Mantra", but we would appreciate a bit more build quality. The cheap plastic feel of Galaxy S2 is unacceptable for a premium device. However, thats not going to be a deal breaker at all. Galaxy S2 has done very well in the market. We are expecting a good result from the Galaxy Note as well.
One last question we have is, "How many hands do you need to use this huge device" ?? Is it going to replace your mobile phone ?? Tell us your views in the comment section.
