In a special launch event held at New Delhi, Nokia and Microsoft India together announced the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. These are the first two Windows phones from Nokia which were announced at the Nokia World 2011 on October 26th. This is one of the quickest roll out of products after announcement in a long time. Eventhough Nokia hasn’t announced any price yet, it’s rumoured to cost Rs 29000/- for the Nokia Lumia 800 and Rs 19000/- for the Lumia 710 model. These prices are similar to the international prices.
Nokia is also planning a makeover to the retail stores and you will find a Windows Phone expert in every 5000 stores across the country that will be selling the Lumias. It’s a good move from the Nokia as people aren’t quite aware of the Windows Phone platform in India. The devices will be available for purchase this December 14th onwards in India. If you aren’t patient enough you can also try in these countries (UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and Netherlands.) which are expected to receive the Lumias first in the world.
Nokia Windows Phones will come with exclusive features like the Nokia Drive and Nokia Music and will surely work here in India. Not to mention, you will also have a gorgeous looking phone with great build quality which is unique to Nokia. Pre-orders will start in early December. So, the question is, Are you excited and will you buy one ??
